I'm curious about how others of you have experienced difficult challenges in life, and especially how you've responded to them. Tragedy has been a big part of my life. Because of my experience, I've come to agree with the philosophy that one can either use difficult circumstances to learn and grow, or allow them to become a reason to be downtrodden. I believe in the potential of the human spirit to beat the odds and progress; in our ability to reach new heights of mastery despite our limitations and follies.
Someone who is a beautiful living example of a human being's - not to mention a Alemin's - capacity for this kind of success is Amy Cuddy. I relate with her so much; in spite of being in a seemingly impossible circumstance, and despite her doubts and feelings of worthlessness, she endeavored forward to manifest her dreams. She drew upon what intelligence she was capable of in order to rebuild that which had been lost, and forged a path to discovery, ultimately mastering that aspect of life which so pained her before. I find her.. so inspiring
I think that potentially, the ability of Ti to be detached from what pain may be experienced in a situation gives Ti-leads an advantage. The way I've experienced it, in grave moments when disaster has struck and my heart is arrested in shock or pain, I can sort of step outside of all that and analyze the situation rationally in order to decide on a best course of action. In this way, Ti's dispassionate impetus toward understanding makes it so I'm more likely to learn in any situation, and in the case of difficulty, figure out a way to overcome it.
So how have you guys experienced these sorts of situations? Do you relate to Amy Cuddy's outlook, or do you have a different philosophy/application?
